And Another 10 Weeks Passes us by…
This is going to have to be VERY brief but HELLO world, and GO PATRIOTS.
Yes indeed, the Superbowl begins in about and hour and a half. The last few months have most definitely been rather football oriented around here. And today, after a rousing sermon entitled “The Covenant Bowl” (filled with football analogies, comparing the Old and New Covenants, and yes it related!), the “better half” along with the older two youngun’s drove down to MA to watch the game with his folks, and the younger two and I will shortly be heading to dear friends to watch it here near home . . . . Party on! And may the best team (that’s the Patriots right?) win.
On a more personal note (not very footballish in nature) it’s been a very full couple months with the holidays and there has been a LOT to keep us busy. I’ve been dizzy some (esp. this past week) and trying to pace myself - we think this seems to happen when I get a cold and/or am really behind on sleep (usually both is what brings it on) and it takes upwards of a week or even two (in this case) for the dizziness (or instability if not actually dizzy) to completely go away again. This was the worst spell since last spring honestly so I’ve got my antennae up wondering a bit and it’s part of why I stayed here (but also b/c it’s less hoopla and fatigue on Steve and all the kids if only the older ones go and may even be a nice break for everyone and special time w/daddy or mommy too) But each day is an improvement on the last and I haven’t needed the “antivert” (the medicine that helps keep things from spinning) since midweek.
Emily has been unusually fatigued pretty much the whole of the past two months and so we’ve tried to scale back on things (how does one scale back on “nothing?”) and begun investigating whether this is normal for her or if there is some underlying cause. But we do try to allow her some “fun” and some “excitement” (like driving to the grandparents for the night and skipping a day of school) and just hope and pray it doesn’t wipe her out for the whole week.
Hopefully we’ll do better about updating this even if it’s little notes here and there over the coming months but we are trying to keep necessary priorities here in the home so it may be like this (months at a time!) every now and again.

Update a few days later:
Of course you all know the Patriots lost (ouch!) but the kids had a marvelous time with their daddy and a nice break. They even got to ride Grandpa’s school bus to school Monday morning! What a fun time.
