Tired and dragging…

It’s been two weeks now since the first of us got sick. Several still have fevers and one has an ear infection. Steve is still regaining strength, and he and I are both coughing uncomfortbly. I have little voice (that’s been on the fritz since last week about this time). We’re tired of being sick, but thankful it’s not worse. I took the 3 sick kids (Matthew was the only healthy one!) to the doctor yesterday just to be sure and he said it may not be the flu but regardless, it’s possible the flu shot has helped mediate the illness. Emily’s not feeling at all sick, despite the fever (which got as high as 103!) and cough, and itching to get back to school. Elizabeth and Jonathan are fussy but on the mend - it seems. At least no one had a fever of over 101 today. That’s great. Hopefully Emily will be back to school tomorrow - for two days (our favorite vacation - 7 days off from school plus two weekends for a total of 11 days! - starts Saturday!). Now if only Steve could get over the “residual fatigue” as he’s describing it, and the cough, and me too (though to a lesser degree), we’d be in good shape. It’ll be good to be healthy again and we’re hopeful. :-) Sure are glad no one came to visit this past weekend as some were thinking about it.

glad to hear you are on the mend. Enjoy next week.Hopefully it will break the “contagious cycle”. I’m hopeing it did that in this area this past week. Don’t need that. Sorry we couldn’t make it up there but as you say, it was best. Hope to get Steve’s present in the mail tomorrow. If it’s late, at least know that it is coming. Love, mom
