In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb
We haven’t written much because the weather here has been warm and wonderful this week. Five beautiful, warm, sunny days in a row, culminating in 70-degrees today. As soon as we have pictures downloaded, we’ll post a couple here (that may take a few days) but suffice it to saw we walked to and from school lots, played outside for hours, visited parks and playgrounds , got really dirty (I even began raking the yard, something I often can’t get to until May!) . . . and we even went ice skating (the rink closes next week - didn’t want to miss our 2nd to last chance until fall) but had to carry our coats and put them on inside since it was too warm to wear them outside. Very fun! This seems unusual for March (mind you, the first day of spring, only 10 days ago, was frigid cold and raw and windy) and we’re having to pinch ourselves to remember that it will probably be cold again shortly, but it was wonderful and full of promise that winter is indeed past!

Melanie,
It has been beautiful here too. Daffodils are in full bloom! I actually walked with coat off in NYC this week, instead of taking a taxie. Took the PATH to the Worlk Trade Center for my first time since 9/11. Emotionally jolting — It encircles the protected but visable excavation site, to which I previously hike with Cynthia & Todd. The sun shone brightly through the Stars and Stripes, reminding me of your inspired return from Switz.
