Emily loves to sing . . .
And perform. As we mentioned earlier, she sang in the childrens’ choir on Palm Sunday. They sang for both services (she was much more at ease the 2nd time).
She and two of her friends got together one afternoon and made raindrops for April Showers night at Awana. They sang a song they made up themselves and after the rain, they showed how April Showers bring May Flowers (on the other side of the raindrops - one had tulips, the other two daisies). They began as you see in the picture and ended standing up holding the flowers. It was really fun to watch the three of them do this - the ideas and execution were all their own. If that wasn’t enough, at one of the other girls’ intitiative, they then invited a couple other friends to join them in the actual “performance”, thus reaching out and including others and excluding no one. It was really one of those “warm your heart” moments to hear about. Oh yes, and they “won” the prize for their age group that evening. Mind you, they didn’t do it to win, but because they wanted to do something together rather than individually, and made a play date out of it (not easy to do with these three girls). Very special. I hope they continue to have such a positive effect on each other as they grow up!
