Ready to go (that is slide…)

Well, you may or may not know or remember that the Essex Junction ice skating rink over at the high school closed early last spring because it was due to be completely demolished and rebuilt. The day after the kids’ ice show the destruction began and just this past Friday we got our first personal glimpse of the new ice being laid on the new rink when we signed up for lessons. The kids were so excited.

If you want to see demolition/construction/concrete and large equipment photos etc of the progress , you can go to this site. It was fun for us to look at the pictures to see before (mind you the before pictures must have been taken right after it was last redone - it never looked that nice while we’ve been going there!), during and after. . . .

And tomorrow we skate! Yippee! Homeschool skate is at noon, and Emily’s and Matthew’s lessons are at 4:45. We got new skates for those who needed them on Sunday afternoon (yay! not easy to find ones small enough for Elizabeth’s teeny feet, let alone affordably but God provided!) and even Jonathan will take to the ice at noon . . . . That ought to be interesting. We’ll keep you posted as the year progresses on how everyone is doing and enjoying this fun family time.
