A month passes so quickly
So, it’s been more than a month since we wrote . . . here’s the basic “summary” - we were sick, or at least somebody was sick for much of that time. First Jonathan ran a high fever and got that croupy cough thing (it started the first day we went skating of course) . . . that lasted about 10 days. Then Emily had a tooth-related issue (infection) that resulted in her getting a baby tooth extracted . . . Then Elizabeth got the high fever thing (another 10 days) . . . and then Jonathan got it again (another 10 days bringing us up to the present). It’s been awfully fun. So we’re thankful now that everyone appears to be healthy and we’ll be enjoying Thanksgiving with hearty appetites with both sets of grandparents, hopefully without getting anyone of the group sick. Suffice it to say we survived (rather than enjoyed, not that it was bad, but it was tough juggling…) 5 weeks of skating lessons and even some “itty bitty skating” one morning for the little ones. We also had parent teacher conferences, several potluck dinners, watched more baseball and football than is good for us, gave out (and ate) lots of candy, watched Emily play in her final soccer game, attended a couple birthday parties, memorized verses for Awana, made applesauce, apple pies, apple bread, and apple butter (cookies too but they weren’t apple), and hosted a huge gathering here at our home for a group of 25 ladies and a bunch of kids. Someday I’m sure we’ll have other exciting things to share and photos too but for now . . .
